In Dallas and beyond, people take to the streets to both salute and dispute Biden win

Amid cheers, honking horns and clanging pans, demonstrators marched through downtown Dallas on Saturday to celebrate Joe Biden’s victorious bid for the White House as citizens around the country similarly rallied in both praise and protest of the election’s outcome.

Organizers of the Dallas event said that while the result was cause for celebration, their work is not yet done.

“No longer can we be ignored,” said Tiara Cooper of Faith in Texas, one of a half-dozen organizations represented at the event, which began at Dallas City Hall. “The people have been heard. We need to continue to have our voices heard, and that’s going to require … a lot more work. Today we celebrate, but tomorrow it’s back to business.”
