Paid sick leave effort stalls in Dallas, but remains in the Legislature's crosshairs The Dallas Morning News

State lawmakers are promising to stomp out city policies on paid sick leave in the upcoming legislative session, but it’s unlikely Dallas will have an ordinance for them to target.
Brown and members of the Working Texans for Paid Sick Time coalition — which include the Workers Defense Project, Planned Parenthood Texas Votes, Dallas AFL-CIO, Faith in Texas and the Texas Freedom Network — say they’re going to make the issue a priority in municipal elections, then use it to fight for changes at the statewide level.
