2022 Faith Forum – Registration / Networking Dinner

Washington, DC

The Faith Forum will be a four-day national gathering of clergy, faith leaders, federation directors, organizers, and Faith in Action partners. Faith in Action (FIA), the nation’s largest faith-based grassroots organizing network, is hosting its Second Annual National Faith Forum, Feb. 28-March 3, 2022 in Washington D.C. The 4 day national gathering of clergy, faith leaders, FIA federation directors, organizers, and partners was created to train leaders to move our local, state and federal work forward as a unified response to systems that conspire against black and brown people. Faith in Action in the spring launched a listening campaign to hear leaders’ experiences over the last four years, to share hopes and dreams for the future, and to create a collective vision and priorities for Faith in Action within a shifting political landscape. The campaign’s goal is to listen to 10,000 people and train at least 500 “super leaders” in 20 states and the District of Columbia. Faith in Action is using an anti-racist research paradigm method called Participatory Action Research to determine the key themes and findings and will compile what is learned into a report. The report and findings will be used in advocacy, briefings and in the Faith Forum. During the Forum we envision activities such as: Training and development opportunities for participants. An action in Washington D.C. Advocacy visits with members of Congress. Panel discussions with members of congress and administration. Unveiling of FIA’s Platform based on listening campaign.

Faith in Action Women’s Celebration and Training

Zoom (see registration link)

Throughout our individual and collective faith and organizing journeys, the centering of women has been maligned, purposefully ignored and rendered invisible. This organizing moment of celebrating women will re-teach and teach for the first time how to carry the real lived experiences of women in our organizing work; demonstrate how faith, power, and women together form a vehicle to create wins in organizing and justice; and declare the path of power, faith and liberation is through our reclaiming of us— our stories, our bodies, our labor and our brilliance as women. Please join us for this ONLY Women’s (Black, Brown, Trans, Disabled, Muslim, Immigrant, Formerly Incarcerated, ALL!) event! We will hear prayers and calls to action from powerful women across our network: Prophetic Proclamation Rabbi Miriam Terlinchamp, Temple Shalom, Cincinnati, OH Prophetic Faith Rev. Nancy Palmer Jones, First Unitarian Church of San Jose, CA Prophetic Call to Action Rev. Nicole Barnes, Faith in Action Fund Womanism and Power Rev. Kamilah Hall Sharp, The Gathering, Dallas, TX Islam and Power Soraya Deen, Muslim Women Speak, Los Angeles, CA *A Special Guest: Ashley Shelton, POWER Coalition Executive Director, will discuss organizing Women in the Louisiana delta around the maternal and infant mortality rate
