Virtual Candidate Forum Webinar

Learn to Host Great Candidate Forums!

Faith in Texas, in partnership with BE The Delta, is training organizations and individuals in how to create virtual candidate forums that ask tough and thought-provoking questions that lead to an informed and engaged community. We are non-partisan, we are organized and we are passionate about ensuring your voice is heard. And now more than ever, we’re using our skills and expertise to move the work forward in communities everywhere.

2020 has been a year defined by crisis. Both the COVID-19 pandemic and the ongoing racially motivated terrorization and killings of Black people have further exposed and exacerbated the crisis we have lived with for generations. These crises have revealed the need for democracy to deepen its commitment to the value of “we the people…for the people.” We recognize that communities are longing for candidates that communicate with them where they are. We can make that happen by bringing candidates to our organizations and neighborhoods to answer the questions that matter to our communities.

The Virtual Candidate Forum Training Series is a three-part series that will be offered in late August and will cover the elements of a great forum, taking advantage of virtual environments, moderation, candidate recruitment, 501c3 compliance, and more. Faith in Texas and BE The Delta are hosting free webinars on Monday, August 3, 12:00-12:30pm, Thursday, August 6, 7:00-7:30pm, and Saturday, August 8, 10:00-10:30am to share more information about the training series. The webinars will be identical, so just pick the time that works best for you! During the free webinars, we will share who we are, the power of virtual, and the topics included in our Virtual Candidate Forum Training Series. You’ll also have a chance to ask questions about Virtual Candidate Forums and share topics you would like to see addressed in the Training Series. Join us for a free webinar to learn more!

Our hope is that you’ll take our training, customize it for your organization and community, then produce an event that best fulfills your values and needs. You know your community best, so we want to help you be the best advocate you can be.
