Fariha relocated to Dallas from her New Jersey hometown in 2017. Her personal fight against educational inequity and racial discrimination led her to Faith in Texas and she brings to the team over seven years of fundraising and development experience. Previously, Fariha worked with education institutions such as Ohio State University, Texas Tech, and most recently, The University of Texas at Dallas. In January of 2020, she decided to leave higher education to do work that is more aligned with her personal values and mission.
Fariha believes that intentional philanthropy, education, advocacy, and engagement are key for impacted communities to thrive and hopes to use her role at Faith in Texas to continue fighting for and with oppressed groups of people and help educate and engage the South Asian community in justice work.
